Review - Swrve Keiu Anorak
Simple, but incredibly effective - that sums up the design of the Swrve Keiu Anorak. It is a classic waterproof; designed to keep you dry both on and off the bike. As with other Swrve apparel that I've reviewed on the blog, it delivers.
Shield+ waterproofingThe Keiu anorak uses Teflon Shield+ waterproofing, with a fully taped seam construction. Seal out the elements, whilst allowing moisture to escape from within. I've worn this in wet but mild conditions - the most challenging for any waterproof fabric, and it has excelled.

Clever cutMost waterproofs feature a full-length zip, but that can be uncomfortable when tucked down on a bike; as well as providing a potential weak point for water ingress. The anorak style design of the Swrve Keiu means you get pull-over protection, without the fiddly zipper.
To quicken getting the jacket off and on, Swrve have added a clever two-way side zipper on the right hand side. This means the cut of the jacket can remain trim, whilst still being quick to get on and off. The two-way nature of the zip means it doubles up as a pit vent (there is also a pit vent on the left hand side).

Added comfortThe breathability of the fabric, and the extra ventilation from the pit vents, help to make the Swrve Keiu Anorak comfortable in anything from snow to summer drizzle.
To further seal out the elements though, Swrve have added a fleece lined collar, Velcro cuffs, and a drop-tail rear hem. Then, there is the superb peaked hood, which helps to provide overall protection.
Added comfort, to protect all areas of your upper body. This is ideal if you partner it with Swrve's protective legwear, like the Swrve WWR Softshell Trousers (reviewed here).

Useful pocketingPractical pocketing adds to a practical design on the Keiu anorak.
You get two hand warmer pockets, which are welcome in cold conditions. Then there is a central stuff pocket, for small essentials. A simple, but well thought-out out set of stash pockets.

OverallThe Swrve Keiu Anorak has become my go-to waterproof. Every time I wear it, whether it is on or off the bike, it provides protection, comfort and a subtle smart style.
This is a waterproof jacket that is as at home walking along the high street, as it is mountain biking in the wilderness. As comfortable in light drizzle on a mild day, as it is in heavy snow.
The build quality is superb, too. Like other Swrve products that I have tested, I can see that this will easily still be in use in 5 or more years time. Built to function faultlessly, and built to last.
